"Looking for good Cuban food ...Cubacan definitely worth a look!"
This past weekend, we were in Asbury Park for an event at Convention Hall, and decided to try Cubacan, a new restaurant right on the Boardwalk. Great choice!
Interesting restaurant and patrons - urban chic with a touch of the islands... looking out over the boardwalk at the ocean...got to enjoy GREAT food, a beautiful view and an parade of people on the boards.
Food was VERY good. My husband and I decided to try some of the tapas and appetizers instead of an entree, as a way to sample several different Cuban staples. Good way to experiment. We had Cuban sandwiches, empanadas, a dish of crispy pork pieces, and plantains. Our friend tried the Cuban pork with beans and rice.
The Empanadas are out of this world - crispy, flavorful, delicious! The small plate of Cuban sandwiches were tasty and vanished in an instant. Our friend's entree portion of the Cuban pork was served in a small iron caserole dish. It was moist, tender, and savory - YUM! All in all, we will definitely be going back - next time later in the evening, so we can sample the mojitos and the salsa band that we heard as we passed back by the restaurant after the event. I think this could be a real find among the many Asbury Park restaurants ... let's hope that this one stays around for a while!

"Cuba hits the Jersey Shore just in time for the Summer !!!"
I was walking the boardwalk last night & found this amazing new restaurant, Food & cocktails were amazing along with the staff and a very attentive hands on owner... Was told has great Cuban band at the bar on the weekends, can imagine the scene on the weekend with dancing at the bar !!! Just imagine Springsteen doing the Tango this summer in Asbury ... good times at the Jersey Shore :)

"Awesome food and atmosphere"
I took my wife to Cubacan Restaurant as a surprise. The waitress was awesome, fast and attentive, the food was soo good- try the Bistec Empanizado or the lechon. I also had the red snapper ceviche, I'm a sucker for ceviche and Cubacan has really good stuff. Some places let it sit and get soggy not here. I am going back ASAP.

An amazing restaurant... the bartenders made me the best mohito i ever had and the food was fantastic! try the chicken empanadas!
